Over 2.5 million Toyota vehicles have been proudly produced in Indonesia and exported all over the world. This milestone comes after surpassing 2 million units just eight months ago (Feb 2023), and approximately five years after breaching the 1 million unit mark in 2018.
PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) has now produced approximately 2,520,754 units spread across its Sunter (Jakarta) and Karawang (West Java) plants since its establishment in 1987, which are exported to nearly 100 countries.

President Director of PT TMMIN, Bob Azam added that the achievement demonstrates the strength of Indonesiaโs national human resources, which excels not only in terms of population but also in high competitiveness because they have successfully produced high-tech automotive products for the global market.
Toyota Indonesia's export activities started in 1987 with the shipment of the 3rd generation 'Kijang Super' โ the Unser's predecessor โ to Brunei Darussalam with a modest volume of 50 units per month.
Since the introduction of the Innovative Multi-Purpose Vehicle (IMV) project in 2004, Toyota Indonesia became the export base of the Innova, exporting up to 7,000 units annually to various countries as well as meeting domestic demands.
In addition to the Innova, the export of Toyota vehicles made in Sunter and Karawang has grown, including models like the Fortuner, Vios, Avanza, Agya, Rush, and various Toyota engines.
Besides exporting Completely Built Up (CBU) vehicles, Toyota Indonesia also exports CKD packages, component parts, and even production dies and jigs. Since 2019, conversion vehicles like cash carriers, well-cabs, and patrol cars have also been exported by Toyota Indonesia to foreign countries.
