The Mitsubishi Triton holds strong at No.2 in Malaysia's pickup truck segment

The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton has maintained its position as the second most popular pickup truck in Malaysia for the second consecutive year.
With sales totaling 8,636 units during the Financial Year 2023 (April 2023 – March 2024), the Triton continues to hold its ground against stiff competition from newer models such as the Ford Ranger.
The strong performance of the Triton, combined with the success of the Mitsubishi Xpander which sold 11,384 units, contributed to Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) achieving a total of 20,020 units sold in the same period. This robust sales figure has helped MMM retain its status as one of the top three non-national automotive brands in Malaysia.
Shinya Ikeda, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, expressed optimism about the company’s direction adding "Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia is the top three non-national brand in Malaysia. Looking ahead to 2024, Mitsubishi Motors is continuously initiating changes for the better and an ownership experience of the highest standards. We are excited to keep moving forward and appreciate all our customers for their faithful support of the Mitsubishi brand," Ikeda stated.

All variants are powered by 2.4-litre MIVEC turbodiesel 4-cylinder which develops 181 PS and 430 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission depending on variant.
