Itâs all part of the new CARSOME Value segment. Cars listed here are competitively priced and sold in their current condition. Theyâre inspected for roadworthiness and are free from flood, fire and major accident damage.
Youâll find that most cars under the CARSOME Value banner are similar to this Kancil, offering great value for money towards those seeking to purchase an affordable car thatâs been given a thorough examination.
Browsing the inspection report of the car on the site, which you can view here, youâll notice a number of imperfections but itâs genuinely to be expected from a car of this provenance. Itâs just a well maintained, honest example of the Kancil and thereâs plenty of nostalgia in that.
Weâve recently covered the first generation of the humble Kancil during a tour of JP Chinâs Museo, wich is probably the only museum in the world where you would see a McLaren P1, a 3-wheeled Benz Patent Motorwagen and a Kancil all under one roof.

The Kancil here is part of the extensive restyling that arrived in September 2002 that saw it receive rounder headlights and taillight. Even the rear license plate was repositioned onto the hatch.
On the inside, the combination instrument cluster was also repositioned in the middle of the dashboard but angled towards the driver, similar to the first-generation Toyota Vios.
Being the EZi variant, this model received a fuel-injected powerplant, the ED-DE, that was upgraded with a DOHC 12V head and fuel injection.
In the first quarter of 2008, the 850cc Kancil variants were discontinued before production ceased entirely in July 2009 for it to be replaced with the Perodua Viva.
