You donβt really need to look hard to see the inspiration behind the design of the slippery-looking Ora Lightning Cat/Grand Cat. The electric vehicle (EV) is obviously a Porsche Panamera lookalike and it will be launched in Thailand in November 2023 following a few spyshots from the Kingdom.
According to our colleagues over at AutoFun TH, the Lightning Cat will be given a new name, Ora 07. It might seem the Chinese EV brand of Great Wall Motor (GWM) would like to present a more mature and less feline connotation to the Panamera mimic.
The Ora 07 will be the second model to be introduced after the Good Cat and it was publicly previewed in the Kingdom at the Thailand International Motor Expo (TIME) late last year. There is a possibility that the upcoming TIME 2023 which will be held from 30 November to 11 December could be where the larger-looking cat be launched in the Kingdom.
Thailand could be the first right-hand drive (RHD) market to introduce the Ora 07 as it is only available in China for now. Over there, the Lightning Cat as it is called is offered in 4 variants with prices ranging from RMB 189,000 to RMB 269,800 (~RM 119k-170k).
It was initially called the Grand Cat when it was displayed at TIME 2022 and the unit shown is powered by a pair of electric motors on each axle that makes a combined output of 408 PS/680 Nm. Juiced up by an 83.49 kWh battery, the displayed unit has a range of 550 km on a single charge according to NEDC standards.
With the Ora 07 making its launch in Thailand, it might even make its way to Malaysia perhaps by next year. Currently, the Ora Good Cat is available here in two variants:
