The 2024 Perodua Axia (D74A) has won the Public Areas and Transportation Products award at the Malaysia Good Design Award, organised by the Malaysian Design Council (MRM) yesterday.
This award – think of it as the coveted local alternative as the famous Red Dot Awards – honours the best the country's industrial design segments can offer, spanning 13 categories from crafts to architecture; all the way to fashion and trade shows.
It is the highest design recognition from the Malaysian government.
Products are judged in areas of innovation, functionality, symbolism and emotiveness, distinctive qualities, manufacturing quality, ergonomics, durability, and ecological features, among others.
For Perodua, this continues a long line of wins. Data on MRM's website show the Bezza won the award in 2016, the Myvi and previous-gen Axia in 2018, as well as the Aruz and Axia in 2019.
The 2024 Perodua Axia retails from RM 38,600 to RM 49,500.
With humble beginnings collecting diecast models and spending hours virtually tuning dream cars on the computer, his love of cars has delightfully transformed into a career. Sanjay enjoys how the same passion for cars transcends boundaries and brings people together.
