At the ongoing 2024 Bangkok Motor Show (BMS), Chinese battery electric vehicle (BEV) company, XPeng made its ASEAN debut with a trio of models. The main highlight though is the XPeng G6 which is planned to be the first model introduced to right-hand drive (RHD) markets.
Yet the units shown at XPeng’s booth are Chinese-spec left-hand drive (LHD) models. XPeng is widely compared with Tesla and the G6 is a close rival of the Tesla Model Y.

Built on XPeng’s SEPA 2.0 platform, the XPeng G6 will be offered in Thailand in 2 variants. Both the Standard and Long Range variants are powered by a rear-mounted 296 PS/440 Nm electric motor with a top speed of 202 km/h.
The difference between the two is the battery size with the Standard juiced by a 66-kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) unit and has a claimed range of 580 km (CLTC). The Long Range has a bigger 87.5-kWh nickel cobalt manganese (NCM) battery with a claimed range of 755 km (CLTC).
