Making its global debut yesterday is this, the 2024 Peugeot e-5008. It joins an increasingly growing market of 7-seater BEVs (but not just that, more on this below), and is set to begin European sales by September this year.
Up front is the new Peugeot family face that's also seen in the e-3008, coming with a refreshed take on the light claws flanking the new grille. LED lights are standard, Pixel LEDs are available on the highest GT variant, and there's a set of excellently eye-catching wheels too.

All the old colours have been thrown out too, and a new mix of six colours are available: Obsession Blue, Ingaro Blue, Okenite White, Pearl Black, Artense Grey, and Titanium Grey. On the GT version, two-tone paint with a shiny black roof is standard.
Then there's the fantastic new interior as well, which is practically rewritten from the ground up. Peugeot calls this the "next-level Panoramic i-Cockpit", and part of the major changes this has over the current models is that the instruments and infotainment are now in a single 21-inch floating panel.
Ahead of that is a new steering wheel; still the lozenge as it was before, but reworked to feature new controls. It seems they've replaced the normal buttons for capacitive touch ones, though Peugeot says they are only activated when the driver actively presses them, to avoid accidental triggers.

Beyond that it gets two stalks by the back for wipers and indicators, a small switch for a gear selector, and a touchscreen panel for air-cond controls. The touchscreen panel is actually a reworking of the i-Toggles 'piano keys' of the older car, except that buyers can now customise functions for it. Call a friend, tune the radio, set the air-cond temperature, things like that.
Connectivity comes via Peugeot's standard i-Connect system, with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Natural voice recognition is also standard, and can now distinguish between commands made by the driver and passenger. Artificial intelligence, ChatGPT, will also be available on the E-5008, to provide interaction between the occupants and the vehicle. Over-the-air system updates are also available.

Like before, the e-5008 is a three-row, seven-seat SUV.
Anyway, what's underneath is even more interesting. The e-5008 is based on the Stellantis STLA-M platform, and comes with a host of electrified powertrains, mainly its three pure-electric options, one mild-hybrid (MHEV), and another plug-in hybrid (MHEV).
The BEVs come in either 210 PS, 230 PS long-range, and 320 PS dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations, while the mild-hybrid offers 136 PS. The PHEV comes in with 195 PS.
WLTP-approved ranges are still pending approval, but Peugeot quotes a 500 km to 660 km electric range. Charging time is not finalised just yet, though the BEV variants of the E-5008 has 11 kW on-board AC charging (22 kW optional), and up to 160 kW DC charging, able to recharge from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes.
What are its chances of coming to Malaysia? We reckon that it stands a fairly good shot at being introduced here - the regular 5008 is sold here, and parent company Stellantis have big dreams with many new models planned for the country. Time, as always, will tell.
