UMWT had a bountiful H1 2023 with 48,659 units of YTD sales - Innova Zenix, Alphard and Vellfire set to further boost H2 sales

It was a bumper H1 2023 for UMW Toyota Motor as it solidified its dominant position in the market in June 2023 with 8,559 units for Toyota and 110 units for Lexus, giving the group a combined sales of 8,669 units. That measured favourably over the 8,004 units recorded in May 2023.

Year-to-date sales for June 2023 demonstrated exceptional growth, with a cumulative total of 48,659 units sold, a 6 percent increase over the 45,911 units recorded in June 2022.

One of the key highlights for the group in June 2023 was the unveiling of the all-new Toyota Innova Zenix that, for the first time, could be had as a hybrid as well. This positioned Innova Zenix HEV as the hero model, embodying Toyota's dedication to a greener future.

The group followed up the launch of the Innova Zenix with the announcement of order-taking for the all-new Toyota Alphard and Vellfire luxury MPVs.

Culminating June 2023 was the announcement of the 6th Season of the GR GT Cup Malaysia commencing on 15 July 2023, a premier online racing series in the country organised by UMW Toyota Motor.

The series is one of the most lucrative local eSports motor-racing events that offers participants the chance to win cash prizes amounting to an impressive RM 90,000. Notably, the GR GT Cup Malaysia holds the distinction of being the first and only eSports motor-racing event organised by a Malaysian car company.

The finals of this exhilarating tournament are scheduled to take place on 19 and 20 August 2023.
