Kia’s distributor in Malaysia, Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn Bhd, has announced that the locally assembled (CKD) 2024 Kia Carnival is now available for booking at all authorised Kia dealers nationwide.
While it isn’t the facelift that made its debut in Korea last year, the self-titled Grand Utility Vehicle receives some quality-of-life updates for 2024. Only 3 variants are offered with the 8-seater Mid variant being dropped though the powertrain option remains solely a 2.2-litre turbodiesel (199 PS/440 Nm) mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

A couple of new features added to the 7-seater and 8-seater High variants are the new 19-inch black alloy wheels along with a Blind-spot View Monitor (BVM).
The latter is seen on some Hyundai models and acts as a Korean version of Honda’s LaneWatch but the feed isn’t just restricted to the passenger side view as it also displays the feed from the driver’s side.
Aside from those, the other features and equipment remain unchanged from the previous updated Carnival High variants. These include heated and ventilated seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support as well as a wireless charger as standard on the 7- and 8-seater High variants.
The 7-seater variant maintains its middle-row captain seats dubbed by Kia as the Premium Relaxation seats with a centre walkthrough seat configuration.
