The 7-seater MPV 2024 Toyota Veloz price in Malaysia is at RM 95,000 OTR, without insurance. In Malaysia, it comes with one engine, one variant, five colors, and one transmission option: CVT. Measurements for the Veloz are 4,475 mm L x 1750 mm W x 1700 mm H.
In our Malaysian market, the Toyota Avanza has been replaced by the new Toyota Veloz. In neighboring markets, the Toyota Veloz is actually the sportier version of the Toyota Avanza (think Vellfire and Alphard), but Malaysia only receives the Toyota Veloz.
Alza and Xpander are Veloz's main competitors.
On the other hand, the Perodua Alza, which was launched in Malaysia, shares many components with the Toyota Veloz, making it nearly identical to the latter. However, these two siblings stand out from one another due to their distinct aesthetic differences and the Perodua Alza's noticeably lower ground height. Alza and Xpander are Veloz's main competitors.
The front of the Toyota Veloz (exterior) is dominated by a sizable hexagonal grille with Y-shaped mesh. T-shaped chrome accents surround this grille and prominently display the LED fog lamp surrounds. Sequential indicators are featured in the headlamps above it.
Similar to the Toyota Alza, the back of the Toyota Veloz features the well-known red stripe running horizontally across its rump, but beneath it is a fake skid plate that declares its desire for sportiness.
The Toyota Veloz's wheel arches, however, are recessed in contrast to the Perodua Alza and Toyota Avanza in other markets, which again suggests that the Toyota Veloz is a sportier car than it's two siblings.
Buyers can choose between two two-tone options—Blue Metallic with Black Roof or Silver Metallic with Black Roof—for an additional RM1,300. The three solid colors available are Red Metallic, Metallic Bluish Black, and White.

The Toyota Veloz interior is comparable to that of the Perodua Alza, with the exception of the air conditioning vents, which are redesigned to make room for the former's 9-inch Display Audio infotainment system, which boasts a wider aspect ratio and the impressive ability to support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Only wired versions of these two are available for the Perodua Alza. The Perodua Alza lacks Qi wireless charging, but it has a sizable open storage area below. The electronic parking brake and auto brake hold button are located behind this space, and they are exclusive to the top-specced Alza. Even though its sibling's logo is different, the multifunction steering wheel and 7-inch TFT digital instrument display are shared with it. Additionally, the cargo volume is the same for both vehicles—137 liters with all seats up and 498 liters with the third row folded.
Toyota Safety Sense, the suite of active driver safety systems, is available as standard equipment on the sole variaToyota Safety Sense, the suite of active driver safety systems, is available as standard equipment on the sole variant of the Toyota Veloz, and some of the important features that will be included are Pre-collision System, which is an autonomous braking system, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
With the extra 20k pinned onto its price tag, we are certainly expecting features like lane centering assist, lane keeping assist, bling spot monitoring, front departure alert, pedal misapplication control, and a minimum of 6 airbags too coming in at standard equipment.
As for non-standard equipment, a rear digital recorder (aka dashcam for the rear) should be available from the Tech-Up catalogue for RM350.
The 2NR-VE 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine coupled to a D-CVT is the only powertrain available for the Toyota Veloz. Drive is only applied to the front wheels, though, in contrast to older Toyota Avanzas. The engine should produce 106 PS (105 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm, the same as the Perodua Alza.
Interestingly, the Toyota Veloz's driving characteristics will differ significantly from the Perodua Alza's due to its 45 mm greater ground clearance. The extra ground clearance will help the Toyota Veloz go ever so slightly off the road and maybe more confidently over bumps as well, but the Perodua Alza's lower center of gravity should give it the advantage over the Toyota Veloz when it comes to the curved sections of the road. Nevertheless, since they are both 7-seaters, aggressive driving is not their intended use.
It is highly likely that the 45 mm rise in ride height will result in a marginally more comfortable ride for Toyota Veloz passengers. Passengers should be happier as a result of the suspension's increased travel, which should enable better absorption of bumps and undulations.
Veloz - Toyota average fuel consumption of 7.9 liters per 100 kilometers was slightly more than the Alza, which we had previously driven on a comparable route. The Veloz's heavier weight and use of 17-inch wheels as opposed to the Perodua's 16-inch ones may be the cause of this.
With the Veloz, Toyota has raised the bar in the small MPV market with its aggressive exterior styling, upscale and reasonably equipped interior, and long list of safety features.
