The Japanese-market Toyota RAV4 will be receiving another round of updates come October 2022, introducing a slew of technological upgrades, reports Creative Trend.
Whereas the December 2021 update focused on minor exterior nip-and-tuck (new headlights and wheels), the upcoming refresh gives a deeper focus to features in its interior, chiefly through the introduction of new digital instrument clusters for all Japanese variants.
The top three variants will get a 12.3-inch fully-digital unit, replacing the 7-inch cluster which is also fitted on the Malaysian-spec RAV4. The 4.2-inch instrument cluster display fitted to the entry-level 'X' variant in Japan will be swapped for the said 7-inch unit.
Alongside that, the RAV4 is said to receive a new infotainment system that will usher in a larger 10.5-inch screen on higher-end variants (said to be similar to the all-new Toyota Voxy/Noah's), while the base 'X' will have its unit upgraded to an 8-inch player.
Other new features within the model's update are said to include an optional HDMI port, new colours, and upgrades to the Toyota Safety Sense suite for the range-topping plug-in hybrid (RAV4 PHV) variant.
At the time of writing, Malaysia has the sole Toyota RAV4 2.5, with its naturally-aspirated engine making 207 PS / 243 Nm. Coming fully-imported (CBU Japan), prices start from RM 215,665 (valid until 30-June 2022).
