Three years on since the model first made its debut, Kia has teased the imminent arrival of the 2024 Kia EV6 facelift. 

Kia's unveiling of the updated battery electric vehicle (BEV) shows off a sharp new face that's very similar to the look on the marque's newest models – especially the Kia EV5.

Round the rear things look familiar with its overarching lightbar, though further changes aren't quite visible.

Expect the changes to also extend to redesigned bumpers and new wheels too; par for the course of facelifts like these.

New battery too?

Reports out of Korea says that beyond the visual and some feature enhancements, Kia is bound to pad the EV6 up with a new 84 kWh battery upgrade for better performance and range.

At present, the EV6 uses a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery pack, and the Malaysian spec lists a 506 km range on the WLTP cycle.

To be fair, it's not an entirely implausible situation, given that the recently-facelift Hyundai Ioniq 5 (which shares a platform and drivetrain with the EV6) got a similar upgrade in early March 2024.

Kia is bound to share more information about the updated EV6 later this month, ahead of its purported debut in June.

Kia EVs in Malaysia

Meanwhile in Malaysia, the Kia EV6 is sold in the sole GT Line variant, priced from RM 318,888. It is one of two BEVs sold by Dinamikjaya Motors, though a third model – the Kia EV9 – will join the market real soon. Bookings for the EV9 have been open since 9-April 2024.
