  • New 2024 Kia EV6 revealed with new battery for longer range and a bunch more updates - all at the same price as before

This is the new 2024 Kia EV6 facelift, and beneath the sharp new looks lies a few important technological updates that pertinently brings more driving range. First on the list of updates is the most obvious – Kia's new family face adorns the EV6. The triangular-motif headlights look are reminiscent of those found on the EV5 and soon-to-launch EV3, while new front- and rear bumpers complete the look. Other subtle exterior changes include new wheels, a new central positioning light, as well as a b

Three years on since the model first made its debut, Kia has teased the imminent arrival of the 2024 Kia EV6 facelift. Kia's unveiling of the updated battery electric vehicle (BEV) shows off a sharp new face that's very similar to the look on the marque's newest models – especially the Kia EV5. Round the rear things look familiar with its overarching lightbar, though further changes aren't quite visible. Expect the changes to also extend to redesigned bumpers and new wheels too; par for the cour

  • Hyundai-Kia files trademark for Hypercasting - Korea alternative to Tesla's Gigacasting

The Hyundai Motor Group has recently submitted to the Korean intellectual property protection office a trademark registration for the term ‘Hypercasting,’ for use by both its namesake Hyundai brand as well as Kia. The trademark was submitted under the category of light metal fabrication, metal heat treatment, metal casting, and pressure casting. As its name implies, Hypercasting refers to Korea’s interpretation of the aluminum die-casting technology used to make vehicle body, popularized by Tesl

  • Now RM 19k more expensive! Kia EV6 is latest to succumb to inflationary pressure

Kia dealers have notified customers that prices of the 2023 Kia EV6 is now RM 19k more expensive, starting from RM 319,668 for the sole all-wheel drive GT-Line variant in Malaysia. The imported (CBU, from Korea) Kia EV6 GT-Line was first launched in Malaysia in July 2022, at the price of RM 300,668. There is no change in specifications. The 5-seater electric SUV is still powered by a 77.4 kWh battery, making 325 PS / 605 Nm, with a 506 km range (WLTP). Like its sister-car the Hyundai Ioniq 5, th

  • Review: This Kia EV6 is the electrifying K-brand car that will shock your peers

EVs are still exorbitantly out of reach for many Malaysians but for RM 300,000, you might as well get the next best thing than a recond Tesla Model 3 and that is the Kia EV6. Forget all your perception of old Kias for the moment though because the EV6 is part of the wind of change that is spreading across Korean cars over the past 5 years. If the Tesla Model 3 looks like a slippery spaceship, then the Kia EV6 is the Millennium Falcon. The sporty coupe SUV style suits the look of the EV though so

  • For Bermaz, earning customers' trust is core to staying relevant in this ESG-compliant EV era

The narrative of battery electric vehicles (BEVs or battery EVs) wasn’t always dominated by Tesla. When the Tesla Roadster was just a toy driven by billionaires for short trips within Monaco, the Mitsubishi i-MiEV and Nissan Leaf was already being used by many families and companies in Japan, USA and Europe. So why the difference in their successes (or failures)? One key reason was that Tesla branded itself as a tech startup rather than an automaker, and Tesla worked the capital market in ways l

  • Review: Perfected by ex-BMW M's maestro, the Kia EV6 is the best EV others have yet to build

Battery electric vehicles (EVs) are rather simple machines. With 100 times less components inside, it is a lot easier to build an EV than a regular internal combustion engine vehicle. Anyone with enough money can buy off-the-shelf batteries, infotainment, all the associated software, and contract a factory to build an EV. But craftsmen and artists will tell you that the easier a task, the easier it is to separate those who really know what they are doing from those who don’t. Confused? Step away

  • MAA: To attract meaningful investments into EVs, extend tax cuts to 10 years

The current import and excise tax exemptions for battery electric vehicles (battery EVs) is set to expire by 31-December 2023. The Malaysia Automotive Association (MAA) is of the opinion that the exemption period, which was announced in Budget 2022, is too short to see any meaningful investments into EVs. “We seek extension of full import and excise tax exemption for CBU EVs while the market is preparing for the growth of EVs in Malaysia. We hope there will be incentives for up to 10 years,” sai

  • Malaysia's first Kia EV6 delivered to owner; more coming on the way

The Kia EV6 has been taking Malaysia's electric vehicle (EV) space by storm – the order books are strong, and crowds thronged around it at our Auto Show a couple of months back. However, a certain Mr. Tan will have the bragging rights of being the first to own a unit here. And it being in bright Runway Red will definitely attract some gazes too. It's certainly very different from the usual Moonscape we're used to seeing that's for sure. Also read: Kia EV6 launched in Malaysia - Priced from RM 30
