First peek at the upcoming Kia Tasman pick-up truck - to battle BYD Shark, Hilux, Ranger

The Kia Tasman will soon be upon the world and the Korean carmaker has given a clear (albeit camouflaged) first look at the pick-up truck earlier today.

Kia says that the model will be launched in global markets, including Korea, Australia, and the Middle East starting in early 2025.

A mid-size pick-up, it will take the fight directly to long-standing rivals like the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-Max, and Mitsubishi Triton – and along the way, contend with the upcoming BYD Shark.

Specs and indicative prices weren't shared at point of publication, though it was previously reported that the ladder-frame pick-up truck will come with a turbocharged engine first, while electrified powertrains are under study.

As for the exterior design, it has boxy and monolithic design elements – its vertical front end and LED headlights look similar to the family face that's on the Kia Carnival facelift.

Meanwhile, the Tasman's camouflage design seen here is made in collaboration with famous Australian and New Zealand artist Richard Boyd-Dunlop under the theme of 'The Paths Never Taken'.
