Indonesian buyers of the Suzuki Jimny 5-door will have to wait for at least 10 months before taking deliveries, reports CNN Indonesia in February.
Suzuki’s Indonesian distributor, PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS), explained that the supply of the Japan-made 3-door Jimny is approximately 50 units per month. In February, PT SIS had accumulated 800 orders, which means it will take about 16 months, or 1.5 years, to fulfill them. Meanwhile, the supply of the 5-door Jimny from India is larger, at 100 units per month.

"The waiting time [for the 5-Door Jimny] depends. The demand for the 5-door keeps increasing day by day. Until today [February], approximately one month after orders were opened in January, our waiting list for the 5-door is around 1,000 units," said Randy R. Murdoko, the Department Head of 4W Sales at PT SIS.
In simple calculations, if there are 1,000 orders and the supply is 100 units per month, it means all orders will be fulfilled in 10 months.
The report highlights that waiting time could become even longer if import supplies decrease while the number of orders continues to accumulate. Conversely, the waiting time could shorten if the distribution of units to Indonesia increases and demand remains steady.
"But it depends, the waiting list keeps growing longer as time goes on," Randy concluded.
