Sold outside of Indonesia and Malaysia as the Toyota Wigo, the next destination for the twin to the second generation Perodua Axia/Toyota Agya/Daihatsu Ayla after Vietnam is not the Philippines but Cambodia.
Launched alongside the Toyota Yaris Cross, the Cambodian-spec Toyota Wigo is only available with a single variant that is powered by the same naturally-aspirated 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engine from the Perodua Axia. The 68 PS/91 Nm engine is paired with a D-CVT automatic slushbox that drives the front wheels.
Still, the sole variant of the Wigo in Cambodia has an impressive array of features that match the top-of-the-range Axia AV in Malaysia. Standard equipment includes a driver's side keyless entry, digital climate control, LED headlights, and an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety equipment is equally impressive on the Cambodian-spec Wigo with blind-spot monitors (BSM), stability control, rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA), and 6 airbags all as standard. Even the Vietnam-spec Wigo only comes with 2 airbags.

This makes the Cambodian Wigo to be one of the better-spec entry-level models in the region but all those features do come at a price. In Cambodia, the sole Wigo is priced at USD 19,900 (~RM 93k) and yes thatโs freedom bucks American dollars as the currency is widely accepted in the Khmer-speaking nation.

Returning back home, the D74A Perodua Axia is available in 4 variants that are priced between RM 38,600 to RM 49,500. The previous-generation Axia meanwhile, is reintroduced to the market as the cheapest car on sale in Malaysia with the sole 1.0 E MT variant priced from RM 22,000 but the first 2,500 units have been sold out within 48 hours of its launch.
