Part SUV and part sporty wagon, the Toyota FT-3e Concept unveiled at the ongoing Japan Mobility Show 2023 teases a future electrified performance SUV that will be intelligent and adaptive to the driver’s needs.
Unveiled alongside the stunning Toyota FT-Se Concept, the FT-3e is one of two battery electric vehicle (BEV) concept models that are claimed to share major componentry and preview the second generation of Toyota EV models that are slated to be progressively introduced starting in 2026.

Bold, angular and visibly borrowing some styling cues from Toyota’s current bZ4X SUV, the FT-3e highlights an exterior design that combines both advanced styling whilst keeping the lines and body surfaces as simple as possible.
The FT-3e will also communicate with its driver using digital displays running from the lower side body to the upper door to provide information.

Information will include battery charge, onboard temperature, and interior air quality as the driver approaches the car.
On the inside, the FT-3e features a simplistic yet roomy cabin ambience which visibly includes multiple layers of screens – from side-view cameras to a main end-to-end screen on the top of the dashboard, in addition to the typical instrument and infotainment screens.

Toyota claims the production version of the FT-3e will also offer personalized services powered by innovative technologies as well as Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates that increasingly personalise the car for its driver.

Toyota has yet to release details about the drivetrain concept or how much power a production version of the FT-3e concept will deliver, however more details will follow in upcoming announcements.
