At the ongoing 2021 Shanghai Auto Show, Changan Mazda has previewed the Mazda CX-30 EV. The model will hit showrooms in China later this year.
Being a preview, the company did not provide any powertrain details. That said, seeing that the CX-30 shares its platform with the electric-only Mazda MX-30, it’s not too far-fetched to say that both SUVs could share a same powertrain.

In the Mazda MX-30, its electric motor is good for 143 PS and 264 Nm, juiced by a 35.5-kWh battery pack. It offers a 200-km range under the WLTP test cycle.
Compared to the Mazda MX-30 and its unmistakable looks, the Mazda CX-30 EV is practically indistinguishable from its petrol-powered sibling, down to its signature Mazda front grille.
The only telling sign that this CX-30 is different is a smattering of Mazda’s e-SkyActiv emblems on the exterior.
Expect more details once Changan Mazda launches the CX-30 EV in China later this year.
