SAIC Motor Malaysia, the local distributor of MG vehicles has launched the 2024 MG 5 less than a couple of months after its media preview. Fully imported (CBU) from Thailand, only one variant is available which is priced from RM 93,900.

However, in celebration of MG's 100th anniversary, SAIC Motor Malaysia is offering an introductory offer of RM 86,900. That's a whopping RM 7,000 off the regular retail price!

Though it is dimensionally closer to a C-segment saloon, the MG 5 is marketed as a B-segment sedan.

The lone variant is powered by a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 119 PS and 150 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a CVT-type automatic transmission with 8 virtual gears.

With a sporty and bold design, the MG 5 has a gaping front grille for extra aggression against similar-sized and priced rivals. The rear has a sleek fastback appearance and a ducktail rear spoiler.

Standard features on the MG 5 include black leather seats with red accents, a powered sunroof, a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a 7-inch fully digital driver display, and rear A/C vents.

As for safety features, the MG 5 offers 6 airbags and MG Pilot ADAS which includes:
