After uploading a teaser last week, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has just launched the all-new 2023 X254 Mercedes-Benz GLC in the country. Malaysia is the first market in Southeast Asia to launch the latest generation of Mercedes’ best-selling SUV.

The X254 GLC is fully-imported (CBU) from Bremen, Germany and is only offered with one variant at launch, the GLC 300 AMG Line which starts from RM 429,888. Local production (CKD) would be announced later but for now, only one variant of the all-new GLC is being offered with the PHEV variants being mulled if there is demand.

The X254 GLC is electrified across the line-up as Mercedes-Benz ramps up its focus on electrification. The GLC 300 is a mild-hybrid (MHEV) and is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-4 petrol engine that makes 258 PS/400 Nm.
This is paired to a 48V motor-generator which adds 23 PS and 200 Nm. Power is sent to all 4 wheels via a 9G-Tronic nine-speed automatic transmission.

Features offered on the Malaysian-spec GLC include MB’s adaptive Digital Light LED headlights that flanked the new star-spangled grille, massaging seats, and Easy-Pack powered tailgate.

Speaking of the C-Class, stepping inside is all too familiar if you’ve ever sat in the sedan but being an SUV, there are some enhanced features to help when you bring it off-roading like a new offroad drive mode, and a camera feature that allows one to ‘see-through’ under the hood when tackling tough terrains.

The interior is available with two colour options, a standard all-black interior or a two-tone Sienna Brown/Black interior which is only available for a limited time.

The all-new 2023 X254 Mercedes-Benz GLC will be available for public viewing at Plaza Arkadia, Desa Parkcity this weekend, on 8- and 9-April 2023 from 10 am to 8 pm.
