Two days ago, Great Wall Motor (GWM) marked their re-entry into Malaysia, this time under new management. Business intricacies aside, fans are more excited about the brand's Ora Good Cat electric vehicle (EV), in which we have fresh, juicy, new details for you.
Expect four variants to be introduced: Tech, Pro, Ultra, and the Ultra G. Here's a simple spec-by-spec comparison according to information we snagged from the brand's now-taken-down site:
Note that these preliminary specifications may change at any time, subject to the manufacturer's discretion. The circa RM 14xk to RM 16xk prices are also manufacturer estimates.
Beyond feature differences, the main seperator between all the variants are battery technologies, their capacity, and charging times. Naturally range differs too; though power output stays the same.
It uses Type 2 AC charging, with CCS2 DC charging too. Claimed charging times are below:
Ora Good Cat charging time

Charging time
48 kWh
DC fast charging:
10% - 80% : ~32 minutes
0% - 80% : ~46 minutes

Currently, the site lists the Ora Good Cat as open for pre-booking at RM 1,000 each, and deliveries are estimated to begin in the fourth quarter (Q4 2022) of this year.
On another note, the same site also listed the GWM Pao 11 and Poer 12 trucks as open for pre-booking.
The Hilux-contender is one of the fleet of vehicles that GWM is introducing to our market; in which we can expect the Haval H6 and Haval Jolion to join too, if the flurry of recent spyshots are any indication.
