The Nissan Kicks e-Power is now Indonesia’s most affordable hybrid SUV at Rp 449 million (that’s RM 126,000). Like in Thailand and Singapore, the Nissan Kicks comes only in a hybrid option and features the full suite of ADAS.

Unlike most hybrids, the Nissan Kicks e-Power is a series-hybrid that is primarily powered by the EM57 electric motor while the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder combustion engine serves as a generator for the batteries.

Combined, the Kicks’ hybrid powertrain crunches out 129 PS and 260 Nm of torque.

Exterior features on the new Nissan Kicks include LED headlamps, dual-tone paint work, and 17-inch wheels. The front end is dominated by a large piano-black grille while the rear end shares a huge resemblance with the bigger Nissan X-Trail.

On the inside, the Kicks in Indonesia will get an all-black interior with multiple soft touch points across the dashboard. The Kicks will also get zero-gravity seats wrapped in black leather.

In terms of safety, the Kicks will feature a full suite of ADAS like Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Intelligent Emergency Braking System, and even Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

Closer to home, Edaran Tan Chong Motors (ECTM) has hinted that the Nissan Kicks will be making its debut in Malaysia as well. If that is the case, the launch will probably be slotted in the first half of 2021 as ECTM is currently working on the arrival of the 2020 Nissan Almera.
