The 2024 Honda Civic facelift has ignited Japanese sales charts, with the model exceeding the carmaker's sales targets sixfold in just one month after its introduction.
Bookings for the new Civic have surpassed 3,000 units as of 20-October, well above its monthly sales target of 500 units, which is typical for larger cars, given the country's preference for smaller kei-class vehicles.
Most notably, this new Civic is popular among young enthusiasts. The new RS variant – the only one with a 6-speed manual outside of the Type R – accounted for nearly 70% of total bookings, with over 2,000 units ordered.

Buyer demographics primarily consisted of upgraders from older Civic models. The RS attracted people in their 20s the most, while the e:HEV hybrid variants appealed to the older generation in their 50s.
Customers were full of praise for the Civic RS, citing its "unique driving experience" that stems from its lightweight flywheel and rev-matching system, as well as its bespoke suspension design.
The adulation was not limited to the manual variant, with others noting that the standard Civics offer "exhilarating, sporty driving" and boast noteworthy technologies like its Google-equipped infotainment system and improved Honda Sensing ADAS.
In Malaysia, it will be some time before the 2024 Honda Civic facelift arrives. It's likely that the Honda HR-V facelift will come first.
Regardless, the Civic is currently priced from RM 131,900 (1.5 E) to RM 167,900 (2.0 e:HEV RS hybrid) here, with rewards of up to RM 12,000 available under the company's year-end sales promotions.

I write about cars, I take pictures of cars, I collect diecast cars, and I go home only to play with more cars online. If I'm not doing all these then I'm shovelling money into my 7th-gen Celica project, @twojetjet.
