It’s official! Mick Schumacher has secured a race seat in Formula 1! The 21-year-old will be racing for the Haas F1 team alongside Russian driver, Nikita Mazepin.
The young drivers will form the all-new line-up for the American outfit, replacing current duo Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen.
Schumacher is currently leading the ongoing Formula 2 Championship season by 14 points, winning 2 races among 10 podiums. Mazepin, meanwhile, sits third in the championship with 2 wins in the bag as well.
With a record-setting 23 races in the 2021 Formula 1 season, Haas believes that the long season would be ideal for the drivers to get plenty of track time to get the hang of the sport.
Schumacher will reportedly start his preparations with a Free Practice session with the Haas team ahead of the season finale in Abu Dhabi next week, followed by some tuning at the end of season test at the same track.
