Love e-Racing? Join the Michelin Virtual Racing Series 2021 and win RM 70k in prizes!

Let's face it, we all want to go out and hit the racetracks to let off a bit of steam. But, in these lockdown-enforced times, that's a bit hard to do. All is not lost, however. Some have taken to e-racing to keep themselves sharp, and well, there's good news on this end.

Michelin Malaysia is hosting the Michelin Virtual Racing Series 2021, with time trial submissions open from now until 27 June 2021. Top 94 participants with the fastest times will go through time trial Verification Sessions, then race head-to-head in Tournament Rounds.

What's in it for participants? Well, the chance to win exciting prizes with a total worth of RM70,000, including new MICHELIN passenger car tyres and exclusive MICHELIN merchandise. I mean, Michelin tyres! Enough said. 

The Michelin Virtual Racing Series 2021 is the tyremaker's first major endeavour into the local e-sports scene, as it celebrates the brand’s latest direction – Motion for Life. The Michelin Virtual Racing Series 2021 will be hosted exclusively on Gran Turismo Sport, and is an official e-racing sanctioned event under the Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM).

Mr. Oliver Biggart, Managing Director of Michelin Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei said, “As an active supporter of the e-sports and e-gaming industry on a global level, we are proud to channel our support locally as well, with the first-ever MICHELIN Virtual Racing Series in Malaysia. 

With the global pandemic limiting our movement in the real-world, we encourage residents of Malaysia – who are doing their part by staying at home and keeping everyone safe – to take part in this exciting journey with us from the comfort of their homes.”

The competition will take place in three phases over the course of the next six weeks: time trial submissions, top 94 verification sessions, and finally the tournament rounds. You can find all the details in the table attached below.

The Michelin Virtual Racing Series 2021 is open to all residents in Malaysia, and participants will stand a chance to bring home a range of exclusive prizes across multiple categories as listed below.
