At long last, the new 2022 Mazda CX-5 facelift will make its debut soon, updating the second-generation model that has been on sale since 2017.
Seen here is the China-market facelifted Mazda CX-5, manufactured by Mazda’s partner Changan Mazda.
The facelifted Mazda CX-5 gets a lightly restyled front-end, with larger grille inserts and a chrome trim piece that looks sleeker than before. It also gets C-shaped signature lighting in the headlights, as well as an angrier-looking bumper.
Mazda has also given the updated CX-5 a revised rear. Gone are the sharp-looking LED tail lights, now replaced with more angular units. There is also a larger bumper trim piece with slimmer reflectors.
The updated Mazda CX-5, according to Chinese sources, should be powered by the same range of naturally-aspirated SkyActiv-G engines, including the 2.0- (155 PS) and 2.5-litre (196 PS) engines. Also unchanged is the familiar six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
