There are only two more weeks left before Honda Malaysia’s ‘Last, Last Bonanza’ promo campaign ends along with the year. Of particular interest is the promo for the Honda City worth up to RM 8,000, depending on variant.
Previously available only to civil servants, the promo is now also open to employees of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
To clarify, you won’t receive an RM 8,000 discount directly off the Honda City’s price. Instead, the promotion is a combination of cash discount and freebies like Ecotint window film (only for E and V variants) worth RM 2,200, bringing the total value of the promotion up to RM 8,000.
The promotion is only valid for cars registered before 31-December 2023.
Of course, since we are already at the end of 2023, many consumers are of the opinion that it is better to wait for a 2024-manufacturing year car, thus saving them one year less in depreciation.
That's a valid opinion, but the counterargument is that it's better to take advantage of today's available discounts, rather than thinking of differences in the car’s resale value 5 or even 10 years down the line. Also, don’t forget that inflation will diminish the real value of the differences saved.
The Honda City is available in five variants, priced as below:
- 1.5S: RM 84,900
- 1.5E: RM 89,900
- 1.5V: RM 94,900
- 1.5 RS: RM 99,900
- 1.5 e:HEV RS: RM 111,900
All variants come with 6 airbags and the Honda Sensing suite of advanced driving aids (ADAS), making the safest sub-compact family sedan on sale in Malaysia. This on top of the Honda City's reputation as the most spacious, most practical sedan in its class.
The higher range V and RS variants add LaneWatch camera, which helps in overcoming blind spots, especially in heavy rain at night, when the side mirrors don’t give you a clear view.
Further up the hierarchy, the e:HEV RS hybrid can travel from KL-Penang-KL, covering over 900 km journey effortlessly. We’ve tested this with the pre-facelift model. We’ve tried with the pre-facelift model earlier.
