Kia pushes even more EV sales, aims to sell 4.3 million EVs by 2030

Kia has set a new goal of getting more than 50% of its global sales from electrified vehicles by 2030, targeting a 34% increase in total global volume to 4.3 million units in that time.

The automaker wants to sell 2.38 million full-electric and hybrid vehicles in 2030, which represents a 300,000-unit increase over its target from last year.

Kia plans to expand its full-electric line-up to 15 models by 2027, with EVs accounting for 1.6 million of those vehicles in 2030.

After the launch of the Kia EV6, Kia also plans to launch the massive Kia EV9 as its flagship EV model.

During the annual CEO Investor Day presentation, Kia expects to sell 258,000 EVs worldwide in 2023, and to supply this coming EV surge, the company will open its first dedicated EV factory next year in Gwangmyeong, outside Seoul. Kia wants EVs to contribute 53% of its overall corporate profit in 2030.
