High like a kite: Lorry driver who crashed into 5 cars on Jalan Ipoh tested positive for meth

The driver of the heavy lorry that ploughed into a group of cars waiting at a traffic light along Jalan Ipoh, Sentul has been tested positive for drugs.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief, Assistant Commissioner Sarifudin Mohd Salleh confirmed the results in a statement yesterday.
Sarifudin also confirmed that there were no fatalities reported from the accident. The 45-year-old driver of the completely crushed yellow Perodua Myvi sustained minor injuries to his face. He was sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for treatment.
The 25-year-old lorry driver did not suffer any injuries. The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) arrested the driver and had an alcohol test done on him. The initial alcohol test found that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol.
PDRM then brought the driver to the Dang Wangi Police headquarters to conduct a urine test on the driver. The results returned positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.
The police are now investigating the case under Section 44(1A) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
According to Sarifudin, the lorry driver was heading from Jalan Duta towards Sentul when he lost control of his vehicle. The lorry crashed into five cars that were waiting at a traffic light, at least eight cars, including a Toyota Vios and a Kia Cerato, were damaged due to the accident.
Videos and photos of the crash have since gone viral on social media. One of the videos showed the driver of the yellow Myvi climbing out of his wrecked car with the help of witnesses.
