Introduced at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2021, the Honda SUV RS Concept is a Perodua Ativa rivalling concept car that Honda plans to take on the sub-4-metre category. The concept car went on display at the Honda Exhibition held at the Honda Bandung Centre last weekend.
The concept car is a product of a collaboration between Honda R&D Asia Pacific Co. Ltd and the Honda team. It features a unique exterior design that makes one immediately think of the front fascia design of a certain French brand.

Honda designers wanted the SUV RS Concept to look sporty with its frameless front grille that appeared to be inspired by the Honda Civic FE’s design. Meanwhile, the chrome strip paired with the DRLs makes one immediately think of the Honda City’s DRL design.
At the back, the concept car gets a light bar that stretches across the tailgate very similar to the all-new Honda HR-V. While the RS Concept has a very unique futuristic look, the design is still distinctly Honda.
Honda hopes that the RS Concept will be the embodiment of sporty performance while offering the latest technology to buyers.
Surprisingly, although the concept car has been going on a tour around Indonesia for a few months now, Honda has yet to release more details like the dimensions and powertrain.
Though you can rest assured that the car will still feature plenty of space since the brand is well known for its man maximum, machine minimum philosophy.
When Honda finally launches the SUV RS Concept, the two forerunning candidates for names are either WR-V or ZR-V, the SUV could also be bound for Malaysia as Honda has hinted that it will be a regional product.
