The 2021 Lexus UX 300e is the Japanese carmaker's first all-electric vehicle and its launch in Indonesia yesterday (26-November 2020) marks its entrance into the ASEAN region.
The battery electric vehicle (BEV) is powered by a front-mounted electric motor that makes 201 PS and 300 Nm of torque. Power comes from a 54.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, good for a 300 km range on the WLTP cycle. Standard AC charging rates for the crossover is 6.6 kW and 50 kW with a fast charger.
The exterior is standard Lexus: tri-LED projector headlights flank the signature spindle grille and crafted design touches all-around, including 17-inch wheels.
Termed as 'Human-Centred Cockpit', the interior is designed to fit the driver and occupants as perfectly practical as possible. There's a digital Optitron instrument cluster as well as a head-up display.
Pampering your passengers is the 13-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system which can be controlled by the 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display. And yes, there's Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, as expected really.
Safety wise, the UX 300e comes with 8 airbags, blind spot monitor (BSM) and a 360-degree panoramic view monitor (PVM).
