BMW Malaysia recently unveiled the updated 2024 BMW iX along with updated pricing and specifications. Here's a glimpse through live images of the refreshed electric SUV.
Pricing wise, the 2024 BMW iX in xDrive50 Sport variant is priced at RM 499,000 (OTR without insurance), inclusive of the optional BMW Service & Repair Inclusive (BSRI), while the M60 variant is priced at RM 613,000. The entry xDrive40 variants have been dropped.
Under the skin, the iX features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configuration, with the xDrive50 Sport delivering 523 PS and 765 Nm of torque, and the M60 bumping figures up to 619 PS and 1,100 Nm of torque. Noteworhty update for the xDrive50 Sport is the adaptive two-axle air suspension, a feature already standard for the M60.
Another update for the xDrive50 Sport is a 22 kW onboard AC charger, reducing the charging time to five hours and 30 minutes compared to the previous 11 hours. The M60 variant already had a 22-kW AC charger.
No changes to DC charging at 195 kW, maintaining its capability to charge from 0 to 80 percent in 35 minutes. Both variants get the same 111 kWh battery with the xDrive50 Sport delivering 630 km and the M60 offering 561 km following the WLTP standard.
Inside, the updated iX comes equipped with the new BMW Operating System 8.5 and improved Comfort Access featuring Digital Key Plus.
However, some features have been removed or altered, such as the omission of the Sky Lounge panoramic glass roof for the xDrive50 Sport and the replacement of the Bowers & Wilkins sound system in the M60 with one from Harman Kardon.
Also, the Laserlight headlamps have been replaced with standard LEDs for both variants, and gesture control has been removed. Interior-wise, variant-specific changes include trim packages and omission of seat ventilation in the M60.
The rest of the interior remains largely unchanged, featuring the Live Cockpit Professional setup, anthracite headliner, multi-function front seats, ambient lighting, four-zone climate control, and a wireless charging pad.
The previous Parking Assistant Plus has now been upgraded to Park Assistant Professional. Additional functions include ability to park in parallel and perpendicular spaces, and the ability to exit parallel parking spaces, with 3D view of the carβs surroundings.
The Driving Assistant Professional package that bundles AEB, ACC with stop and go, and more, is standard for both variants, as is the IconicSounds Electric.
Colour options include Alpine White, Mineral White Metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic, among others, with optional metallic finishes available for an additional cost.
