Chery Malaysia have inked a logistic services agreement with Tiong Nam Logistics Holdings Berhad that will see the latter manage spare parts warehousing and transportation logistics services for the former. Tiong Nam Logistics has obtained the rights to handle Chery’s spare parts warehousing and transportation in Malaysia, including heavy-duty vehicle models such as the Tiggo 8 Pro and Omoda 5.
Tiong Nam is a highly reputable and leading logistics and warehousing providers with over 90 spare parts warehouses covering the entire Malaysia.
During the signing ceremony, Leo Chen, Country Director of Chery Malaysia, expressed that “Malaysia’s viewed as a highly promising market in the Southeast Asian region.” With its entry into Malaysia, Chery will establish connections with neighbouring countries and continue to strengthen its market influence in the region.
In recent years, Malaysia has emerged as an important market for Chery’s global expansion. As one of the largest economies in Asean, Malaysia’s stable economic development and significant potential in the automotive market make it a strategic market for Chery's right hand drive vehicles.
“The cooperation agreement signifies the dawn of a new collaboration is just the beginning,” added Leo Chen. Chery and Tiong Nam are actively building a strong team and working in accordance with Chery's 4P+2P working mechanism. Ultimately, their goal is to achieve a win-win cooperation while providing excellent service to Malaysian customers.
Chery has been hailed a “Technological Chery” in the industry due to its dedicated research and development of core technologies. As a result, Chery’s Tiggo line-up have repeatedly won innovation awards and have become highly popular SUVs in various regions. For instance, the Omoda 5 was honoured with the “Best Technology SUV Award” for 2022.
Today, the Tiggo line-up has evolved into a complete portfolio that offers models ranging from small and compact models to midsize and large models that cater to different audience groups, including urban luxury and high-end business segments.
Chery has maintained a leading position in exports for 20 consecutive years. In 2022, Chery exported 452,000 vehicles, marking a 68 percent year-on-year growth, with a cumulative ownership surpassing 12 million vehicles globally.
“Better late than never.” Some despise it, others begrudgingly agree with it but he swears by it… much to the chagrin of everyone around him. That unfortunately stems from all of his project cars not running most of the time, which in turn is testament to his questionable decision-making skills in life. A culmination of many wrongs fortunately making a right; much like his project cars on the rare occasions they run, he’s still trying to figure out if another project car is the way to go.
