In anticipation of Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia’s launch of the Tank sub-brand in the country, its first model, the Tank 300 will be going on a roadshow in selected malls and GWM showrooms across Malaysia. The nationwide tour kicks off this weekend (19-21 April) at AEON Mall Kuching Central, Sarawak.
The public will get a firsthand experience to check out this retro-looking SUV that has swept all over China as the best-selling off-road SUV in the country for 39 consecutive months with a market share exceeding 50%.
The Tank 300 is around the size of the Toyota Fortuner but with an appealing old-school blocky design that harks back to traditional off-roaders like the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Mitsubishi Pajero, and Isuzu Trooper.

The unit that was previewed to the media came with a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 227 PS/387 Nm. This is then paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.
Besides viewing the upcoming Tank 300, the public will also get a chance to check out another Malaysia-bound GWM model, the Haval H6 hybrid along with both the Ora Good Cat and the newly-launched Ora 07 battery electric vehicles (BEV). GWM is the parent company of the Ora, Haval, and Tank brands.
