After months of teasers, the all-new MINI Aceman has officially made its debut. The new model is the brand's first BEV crossover and second full-electric offering after the 3-door MINI E.

The MINI Aceman measures 4,076 mm or 4,094 mm in length, depending on the variant, the width is 1,754 mm, with a height of 1,515 mm. It rides on a 2,606 mm wheelbase. In terms of size and positioning, the Aceman (not a direct successor to the outgoing Paceman) will slot between the 3-door MINI Cooper and the MINI Countryman in the MINI lineup. The MINI Clubman has also been discontinued as brand pivots toward the brand's upcoming EV models, starting with the Aceman. 

The Aceman is also the second BEV model to be produced by Spotlight Automotive, a joint venture between BMW and Great Wall Motor (GWM) after the all-electric J01 Cooper. Thus, the Aceman will be produced at the Spotlight factory in China’s Jiangsu province.

The Aceman is available in two BEV variants:

Aceman E: Equipped with an 184 PS electric motor on the front axle generating 290 Nm of torque. The Aceman E can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 160 km/h. It houses a 42.5 kWh battery capable of delivering up to 310 km of range.

Aceman SE: This higher-performance variant offers a more powerful 218 PS/330 Nm motor, capable of a quicker 0 to 100 km/h time of 7.1 seconds and a top speed of 170 km/h. A larger 54.2 kWh battery extends the range up to 406 km.

Both models support 11 kW AC charging and rapid DC charging—75 kW for the Aceman E and up to 95 kW for the Aceman SE—allowing the battery to recharge from 10- to 80 percent in just under 30 minutes at a suitably fast charging station.

In terms of safety, the MINI Aceman features the Driving Assistant Plus ADAS suite which enlists steering and lane assistant amongst others. Elsewhere, the standard Trailer Assistant aids in manoeuvring with trailers, and the optional Parking Assistant Pro allows for remote control parking via smartphone. With 12 ultrasonic sensors and 4 Surround View cameras, the MINI Aceman can identify vacant parking spaces with greater precision, automatically initiating parking manoeuvres where space is limited. This function also allows the MINI Aceman to be driven out of a parking space automatically.

The MINI Aceman’s design language, dubbed “Charismatic Simplicity” blends compact proportions with strong contours and will be offered initially in four trim levels:

•  Essential Trim: Minimalist style with a silver finish on the logo.
• Classic Trim: Offers a black or white contrasting roof and mirrors, with body-coloured grille and bumper.
• Favoured Trim: Includes a Multi-tone Roof, white mirror caps, and a vibrant silver grille frame.
• JCW Trim: Features a high-gloss black grille frame, Chili Red roof, red bonnet stripes, and a sportier rear-end design.

Designed to maximise space and offer a retro-inspired interior, the MINI Aceman features a central OLED display, a first for MINI which is controlled via the latest MINI Operating System 9. The Aceman also introduces MINI Experience Modes, which customize the ambient lighting and provide a unique acoustic backdrop to enhance the electric driving experience.

Separately, the iconic central toggle bar has been redesigned and repurposed as well. The most important driving functions (parking brake, gear selector, start/stop key, experience mode toggle, and volume control) are all directly accessible via the five individually designed toggles.

The Aceman is also claimed to offer adequate space at the rear for three passengers. Thanks to the 60:40 folding rear seat backrest, the luggage compartment can be extended from 300 litres to up to 1,005 litres if required.

MINI has yet to confirm launch dates and pricing but multiple reports say that first customer deliveries of the Aceman are slated to start in November of this year.
