Singapore takes the honour of hosting the all-electric (EV) Nissan Ariya's debut in Southeast Asia, simultaneously launching the carmaker's electrified brand identity here in this region.
Previewed alongside the 2023 Nissan X-Trail e-Power hybrid, the Ariya is another new model that is launching in the island country soon.
Nissan is represented in Singapore by Tan Chong Motor Sales, a subsidiary of the Hong Kong-listed Tan Chong International Limited (TCIL), which also owns Malaysian Subaru distributor TC Subaru.
The Hong Kong-listed TCIL operates independently from Malaysia's Bursa-listed Tan Chong Motor Holdings, which owns local Nissan distributor Edaran Tan Chong Motor.
Prices and specifications for Singapore aren't disclosed just yet, but between the two variants available in Japan, the numbers they offer are pretty tantalising:

e-4ORCE is Nissan's electric all-wheel drive system. The Ariya itself sits on a bespoke electric platform, called the CMF-EV.
Par for the course of today's electric cars, the Ariya is a screen-fest inside, with a pair of 12.3-inch displays joined together. Nearly every function that you want to get a read on can be displayed here, and the infotainment system has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay too.
Creature comforts inside extends to power-adjustable leather seats, powered boot, and Nissan's full suite of Nissan ProPilot Assist 2.0 suite of ADAS.
Meanwhile across the Causeway, a Nissan Ariya was also spotted in Malaysia, giving rise that it could be of the many SUVs launching here in 2023. After all, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) themselves teased it in a video last year, so at least there's some hope...
