Here's how much you need to earn before thinking about buying a W206 2022 Mercedes C-Class

You’ve probably heard and read all about the all-new (W206) 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class that was launched last week. So, what’s the recommended minimum salary to own one?

In this monthly repayment guide, we’re taking the W206 Mercedes-Benz C-Class’ on-the-road prices without insurance, which are valid until 30-June 2022 when the SST discount period for fully-imported (CBU) cars ends.

The W206 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is available in two variants – C200 and C300, priced at RM 288,334 and RM 330,681 respectively.

Before we start here are a few things to note:

  • Final amounts you’ll have to pay varies depending on insurance (provider, plans, and NCD), and any discounts given by dealers. 
  • All calculations in this article are based on a 10% deposit and the industry average 2.7 percent interest.
  • A good general rule of thumb is that a car's monthly payment should not take up more than 20 percent of your salary.
