It seems that Xiaomi could be hinting the launch of a new car based on a now-deleted image on Xiaomi’s Weibo account. But wait, there’s a twist!
The photo of this Suzuki Jimny resembling-car was uploaded on Xiaomi’s social media account. Speculations have been going around on social media that Xiaomi will be producing yet another new car.
This isn't the first car Xiaomi has ever launched. Back in 2019, they collaborated with Bestune to produce the Bestune T77 SUV. Earlier this year, they also worked with General Motors to make the 2021 Xiaomi Baojun E300.
Ready for the twist? Turns out its just a remote-controlled toy car (RC car)! igeekphone has debunked this rumour Xiaomi has listed this Suzuki Jimny-looking RC car for crowdfunding on their website back in July 1st.
Looks like we will be getting a Suzuki Jimny from Xiaomi after all, albeit as an RC car. Xiaomi will be releasing a 1:16 scale of the fourth-gen Suzuki Jimny that can be controlled through an app on your smartphone.
The RC car comes with plenty of features such as four-wheel drive, off-road tires, and shock absorbers built on impact-resistant nylon chassis. It comes with the option to add more cosmetic modifications.
We have to give props to Xiaomi for fooling everyone.
