Alongside the launch of the 2020 Mercedes-AMG A45 S and CLA 45, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) also launched the all-new 2020 Mercedes-AMG A35 4Matic. The new entry level Mercedes-AMG is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and comes with Mercedes me for RM 379,888.

Think of the A35 as the less aggressive version of the A45 hatchback. But even though it is an entry level AMG, the 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine is capable of 306 PS and 400 Nm of torque.

The engine is mated to a 7G dual-clutch transmission and power is sent to all four wheels with the 4Matic variable all-wheel drive. The A35 makes the century sprint in 4.7 seconds, just a smidge slower than its A45 S sibling’s 3.9 seconds.

Though the A35 bears more resemblance with the standard A-Class than the A45, it is still easily distinguishable via the sporty rear apron that features a new diffuser insert and two round tailpipe trims.

The A35 wears 19-inch AMG multi-spoke wheels that are designed to improve the aerodynamics on the hatchback while multibeam LED headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist shine the way.

Like its fellow AMG compact cars, the A35’s interior features AMG Performance seats and Nappa leather wrapped AMG Performance steering wheel.

Mercedes me comes as standard on the A35, so owners can keep track on the status of their cars via the app on their mobile devices.

Other new tech on the A35 includes the MBUX infotainment system. But the system on the A35 one ups the standard MBUX on other Mercedes cars with AMG-specific displays.

The touchscreen displays high definition 3D graphics, owners also have the option to pick between 3 different display styles; Classic, Sport, and Supersport.  

Active driver assistance systems (ADAS) include Active Brake Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Parking Assist with Parktronic, and Blind Spot Assist just to name a few. 

MBM is also offering the A35 with the limited Edition 1 package, the hatchback will get the AMG Aerodynamics package and AMG Night package. It comes only in Mountain Grey Magno shod with 19-inch AMG multi-spoke light alloy wheels painted in matt Tech Gold.

The special edition also comes with metallic denim blue with decals also in Tech Gold that matches with the Edition 1’s gold wheels.
