As part of Proton’s aggressive push to export overseas, the company has launched the Proton Saga in Pakistan. Five variants are available in Pakistan, with prices ranging from PKR 1,975,000 (~RM 54k) for the Saga Standard MT to PKR 2,225,000 (~RM 60k) for the Saga Ace AT.
In addition to the regular variants, Proton’s Pakistan arm is also offering the Saga R3 there. Only 100 units of the kitted-up Saga are offered. Unlike Malaysia whereby the model is sold exclusively with a four-speed automatic, the R3 variant offered in Pakistan can be had with a five-speed manual transmission.
Interestingly, the Saga R3 gets the same 1,332-cc engine as Malaysia, instead of the downsized 1,299-cc engine.

The kitted-up Saga R3 is priced between PKR 2,175,000 (~RM 59k) to PKR 2,425,000 (~RM 66k).
As reported earlier, the Pakistani Proton Saga is powered by a downsized naturally-aspirated 1,299-cc four-cylinder petrol engine. Regardless, the engine still outputs 95 PS and 120 Nm.
Equipment-wise, the Proton Saga sold in Pakistan is largely identical to the Malaysian-spec car. The top-spec variant gets LED daytime running lights, 15-inch alloy wheels, and a 7-inch floating head unit.
The Saga R3, on the other hand, gets a host of model-specific features, such as the R3 body kit, 15-inch dark alloy wheels, various R3 emblems, leather upholstery, and R3 carpet mats.
According to sources, initial batches of the Proton Saga will be imported (CBU) from Malaysia, with local assembly (CKD) expected to commence later this year.
