The facelifted 2025 Mazda BT-50 has been revealed, showcasing a fresh design inside and out, enhanced safety features, and a new infotainment system.
At the front, the BT-50 features a redesigned grille, a revised lower splitter, and slimmer headlights, now sporting LED daytime running lights reminiscent of the Mazda CX-5. The top-spec BT-50 SP variant adds a unique red grille stripe.
While the side profile remains unchanged, the 2025 BT-50 gets newly designed alloy wheels. At the rear, updates include ridged indentations on the tailgate and redesigned taillights.
Inside, the BT-50 benefits from an updated infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, along with upgraded materials. Following in the footsteps of the D-Max, the BT-50 now includes new infotainment software, retaining a 9.0-inch display in higher trims. The system now supports wireless Android Auto, complementing the previously available wireless Apple CarPlay, and introduces enhanced vehicle status and settings menus.
Other tech upgrades include USB-C charging ports and physical dials for volume and radio adjustments, though touch-sensitive buttons have replaced traditional hard keys for other key functions. The 7.0-inch multi-function display within the instrument cluster shows critical driving data such as speed and fuel levels.
Additionally, the main infotainment display can now provide real-time visuals for tilt and steering angles, tyre pressure, diff lock status, and Rough Terrain Mode graphics.
Significant improvements have also been made to the BT-50’s safety features. New stereo cameras enhance the autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system with a wider detection range. The rear-view camera now has a water-resistant coating for better visibility in the rain.
The 2025 BT-50 introduces active safety enhancements, including stop-and-go traffic jam assistance for adaptive cruise control and intelligent speed limit assist paired with traffic sign recognition. The rear cross-traffic alert system can now automatically brake for obstacles, and lane-keep assist can detect road edges without lane markings. The AEB system has been upgraded to detect motorcycles, in addition to pedestrians at intersections.
Interior updates also include black leather-trimmed seats, with the flagship models featuring terracotta-colored 'Maztex' synthetic leather with suede-like inserts. Gloss black center console trims have been replaced with matte black finishes.
With Australia being the model's most important market, it shall launch there first, though prices are yet to be announced. Meanwhile in Malaysia, our BT-50 on sale today is of the pre-facelift variant, priced from RM 92,000 for the sole single-cab variant, and ranges from RM 104,000 to RM 141,000 for the dual-cab versions.
