Edaran Tan Chong Malaysia has formally introduced a new range-topping variant of its popular Serena MPV – the 2023 Nissan Serena J Impul Edition.
Sporting unique Impul exterior and interior updates, the package costs a premium of RM 6,000 over the Premium Highway Star variant. The two variants of the 2023 Serena are now priced as follows:
- Highway Star: RM 149,888
- J Impul Edition: RM 169,888 (inclusive two-tone colour package)
Note, the two-tone colour package carries a RM 2k premium; a single-tone black package is also offered at RM 167,888.

The Serena J Impul builds on the Premium Highway Star Package and adds classy exterior touches, a sportier stance and new interior appointments, all of which were exclusively developed with renowned Japanese tuner, Impul Japan.
At the front, the Serena is enhanced with a chrome garnish on the front bumper, complemented by chrome inserts on the V-Motion front grille. At the rear, a chrome trim is fixed to the lower edge of the bumper as well as an Impul emblem on the tailgate.

The exterior package of the Serena J IMPUL is rounded off with a set of Impul Millennium Y-spoke alloy wheels with two-tone finish. These lightweight 18-inch alloys are manufactured in Japan.
Wrapping those snazzy wheels are Goodyear Eagle F1 Sport tyres for improved grip and steering response.

The interior of the Serena also receives a premium Impul makeover with the seats and door trims upholstered in Nappa leather. The interior is finished in contrasting burgundy and black and features a unique Japanese rock garden-inspired seat pattern with an embroidered Impul logo to match.

Powertrains and safety specifications are unchanged, featuring the naturally-aspirated 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 150 PS and 200 Nm, paired with a CVT automatic. Following its 2022 update, the Serena also received the Nissan Intelligent Mobility ADAS suite featuring predictive FCW, BLIS, RCTA and lane departure warning.
The Nissan Serena J Impul comes inclusive with a 5-year/100,000 km warranty and 5 free maintenance service packages. The Impul additions, on the other hand, come with a 3-year/100,000 km warranty.
