Sime Darby Hyundai Integrated Sdn Bhd (SDHI) and Inokom Corporation Sdn Bhd have signed a Certificate of Mass Production to kick off the assembly of the facelifted 2023 Hyundai Santa Fein Malaysia.
Posted on Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors' social media page, the details of the arrangement weren't shared much save for the phrase "the facelifted Santa Fe is coming to town"; meaning it'll be launched on our shores, and not solely exclusively built for exports.
Specs of the SUV weren't divulged just yet, however it should keep what was powering the pre-facelift cars here before: either a 2.4-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine (172 PS/225 Nm), or a 2.2-litre turbodiesel thatβs tuned to produce 193 PS and 440 Nm. Transmission is a 6-speed automatic.
New looks too are part and parcel of that, and the bold front end now comes with fang-like, two-tiered lighting, slightly reshaped rear end, and of course, an interior that's refreshed by way of a high centre console that sports a new shifter and loads more buttons.
It's far too early to tell about prices, however note that the pre-facelift model was priced from RM 171,888 and RM 191,888 for the petrol Executive and Premium variants; while the diesel models were priced at RM 193,888 and RM 213,888.
