The Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, led by Police Chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa, has announced the closure of several major roads in the city in preparation for the installation ceremony of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim. The event will take place on Saturday, 20-July 2024, at Istana Negara.

A total of 14 roads will be affected by these closures, which will be implemented in stages. The Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department will deploy approximately 387 personnel, including senior and junior police officers, to manage the road closures, provide security, control traffic, and enforce road laws to ensure the ceremony proceeds smoothly.

Road closures will commence at 8:00 AM for the installation ceremony and will continue until 8:00 PM for the Royal Banquet. The temporary closures aim to provide clear passage for royal guests attending the events at Istana Negara. Roads will be reopened once the events conclude and traffic can safely pass through the affected areas.

Road users are advised to avoid these roads during the closures to prevent congestion and to follow the directions of traffic police on duty.
