Kia will be presenting the latest successor to the Kia Forte / Cerato at next Wednesday’s opening of the 2024 New York International Auto Show. The C-segment sedan will be given a new name, now simply known as the Kia K4. The model will sit between the D-segment Kia K5 (Optima name is no longer used) and the B-segment Kia K3 (new name for Kia Rio Sedan). Ahead of Chery Malaysia's revival here, the company has commenced exports of the Wuhu-made Chery Omoda 5 and Chery Tiggo 8. These imported (CBU) cars are for showroom display; customer cars will be assembled at the Inokom plant in Kulim, Kedah. Chery has confirmed that the Omoda 5 in mid-2023, making Malaysia the first right-hand drive (RHD) market to launch the Omoda 5, ahead of countries such as South Africa and Australia.
