The N18 Nissan Almera is a truly underrated B-segment sedan compared to the Honda City and Toyota Vios. The current generation was introduced in the region in late-2019 so it is due for a refresh which is already seen in the North American market Nissan Versa.
The facelifted Almera was spotted before in Thailand this year undergoing tests and covered in camouflage. Itβs a sign that the facelift Almera could be launched in the country sometime this year and this latest set obtained from a Thai automotive Facebook group shows the clearest look of the front.
The Almera facelift sports a new, sportier design that was seen on the Versa facelift that was launched in 2022. But aside from the revamp up front, there are no other significant changes to the Almera facelift.
Hence, the turbocharged 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engine (100 PS/152 Nm) is likely to be maintained in the Almera facelift. The Malaysian-spec Almera is locally-assembled (CKD) though parts are likely sourced from Thailand so itβs very likely that the same engine will be retained for the facelift.
However, there might be a possibility of the introduction of the Almera e-Power hybrid which will be competing against the Honda City RS e:HEV. There are speculations that the Almera hybrid could be powered by the same series-hybrid system as used on the Nissan Kicks e-Power β a 1.2-litre engine hooked up to a 2.06 kWh battery and a 136 PS/280 Nm electric motor.
