Proton’s presence in Egypt saw a bit of a revival with the launch of the Saga in late-2020. Now, the Malaysian tiger might see another addition in the Northern African nation in the guise of the Proton Exora RC (running change).
The Exora RC was Proton’s last update on the ageing but popular MPV that was launched in 2019. A user by the name of Gordon Samuel shared these photos on the WapCar BM Facebook group, implying that the MPV would be launched in Egypt soon.
However, this isn’t the first time Egyptians get to see the Exora. Back in 2018, Proton launched the Exora Bold in the Land of the Pyramids with two variants, Executive and Premium. Both variants were powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged CamPro CFE engine.
The same user also posted interior photos of the Egyptian-spec Exora and it appears that it’s missing the touchscreen infotainment unit. This could be the Executive variant which uses a standard audio head unit instead of a 7-inch touchscreen monitor, at least in Malaysia.
Meanwhile, the floating infotainment screen is available on the Premium variant of the Egyptian Saga with smartphone connectivity. Perhaps, the touchscreen unit could be offered on the Premium variant of the Exora over there?
There isn’t much information on the Egyptian-spec Exora such as the safety features apart from these photos. The same user also stated that prices start at EGP 245,000 for the Executive and EGP 270,000 for the Premium.
We’ll share more info when there are more updates on the Egyptian-spec Exora so stay tuned.
