The next-generation 2022Kia Sportage (NQ5) has been teased for the first time before its scheduled debut in Korea in July 2021.
Penned following the carmaker's 'Opposites United' design language, the new model adopts a way sportier design compared to its rotund predecessor, characterised by a bold front fascia with LED daytime running lights (DRL). There'll also be a full-width black grille up front too.
The sides are punctuated by a sharp crease on the pumped rear wheelarches, flowing to the high-set LED tail lamps at the back which are joined by a tailgate trim.
Much like the battery-electric (BEV) 2021 Kia EV6, a large curved digital display stretches across the driver's half of the dashboard, most likely combining the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system into one unit.
Other little tidbits that can be seen in the teaser include dual-zone air-conditioning, possible aluminium trims, and the little yellow strip on the right side of the dashboard hints at multi-coloured ambient lighting as well.
That's pretty much that for the NQ5-generation Sportage's teasers. Performance, dimensions, and feature details are not mentioned yet - that should be shared in the coming weeks ahead of the model's full design reveal on June 8, 2021.
