Lotus Cars Malaysia, the exclusive franchise holder for Lotus vehicles in Malaysia, has unveiled the 2.0-litre Emira i4 in its First Edition variant. Enthusiasts can now secure their booking for this model at a special price of RM 998,800, inclusive of on-the-road taxes.
This exclusive opportunity pertains to the final iteration of Lotus's internal combustion engine (ICE) technology and is applicable solely to cars manufactured in 2023, before the subsequent pricing takes effect. The standard pricing will be RM 1,095,000 for Peninsular Malaysia and RM 509,000 for duty-free Langkawi.
The mid-engine, two-seater Emira i4 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre aluminium engine. This engine, coupled with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) is sourced from Mercedes-AMG.
The powertrain has been reworked by Lotus, including enhancements to intake and exhaust systems, coupled with bespoke calibration harmonized with the new transmission shift-mapping, the Emira i4 achieves an output of 365 PS at 6,600 rpm and 430 Nm of torque spanning 3,000 to 5,500 rpm.
The Emira i4 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and boasts a top speed of 290 km/h. It also excels in everyday practicality, owing to its well-balanced combination of practical features, comfort, and functionality.
Lotus has also fine-tuned the Emira i4 with Eibach springs and Bilstein high-pressure dampers, adapting settings for Tour and Sport chassis options.
The Tour setup emphasizes road comfort with softer springs and dampers, while the Sport version prioritises track performance through stiffer components, increased camber and toe angles, and lighter front axle anti-roll bars.
The Emira i4 wears 245/35/R20 tyres at the front and 295/30/R20 at the rear. The Tour variant features Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tires, also available for the Sports model. The Sports edition exclusively offers Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres.
Braking power matches the engine's output, featuring lightweight two-piece, cross-drilled, and slotted discs paired with four-piston front axle callipers, customisable in four colours.
Inside, the Emira i4's cabin centres around a 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with integrated navigation and wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. Audio is produced via the 10-channel, 560W premium audio system by KEF.
Power-adjustable heated seats (12-way) blend support and comfort. Nappa leather upholstery offers colour choices, complemented by Alcantara details. Storage comprises 208 litres behind seats and 151 litres in the rear.
The Emira i4 First Edition includes four standard option packs: Lower Black Pack (gloss black accents), Design Pack (privacy glass, Alcantara headliner), Convenience Pack (front sensors, reversing camera, more), and Lotus Drivers Pack (Tour/Sports suspension, Track Mode ESP).
