![Geely's Lynk & Co to make ASEAN debut in Vietnam in Oct 2023 with 4 models 01]()
Geely’s premium sub-brand, Lynk & Co has recently announced that it will be launching in Vietnam in October 2023. This is Lynk & Co’s Southeast Asian debut as the brand is currently only available in China and left-hand drive markets in Europe.

Distributed by GreenLynk Automotives, four models are announced for the Vietnamese market, Lynk & Co 01, Lynk & Co 03, Lynk & Co 05, and Lynk & Co 09. In an official statement on its social media channel, the Chinese carmaker promises to ‘create an “earthquake” in the Vietnamese car market’.

The Lynk & Co 01 is the company’s first model and sits on the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform that is also shared with the Volvo XC40. It is offered with a large central touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 01 is available with either petrol, full-hybrid, or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains with either a 1.5-litre 3-pot or a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder, both turbocharged. However, it is uncertain which powertrains will be offered in Vietnam and that goes for the other 3 models which we will briefly introduce here.

The next Lynk & Co model announced for Vietnam is the Lynk & Co 03 and it’s the only sedan model of the bunch. It is also built on the CMA platform but the most desirable one of this model is the 03+ sports sedan.

Powering the 03+ is a turbocharged 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 269 PS and 350 Nm. This unit is paired with an 8-speed Aisin transmission that drives all 4 wheels.

The Lynk & Co 05 is the coupe-crossover version of the 01. As such there is also a more performance-oriented version called the 05+ which is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre that also pumps up 269 PS/580 Nm like the 03+.

The largest and flagship model of the Lynk & Co lineup is the Lynk & Co 09. It is built on the Volvo SPA platform which is shared with the Volvo XC90. It's essentially the Chinese twin of the Swedish SUV.

However, Vietnam will not be the only market in Southeast Asia for Lynk & Co as the marque is also planned to arrive in Malaysia and Australia by 2025. Could Tanjung Malim be the production hub for Lynk & Co’s right-hand drive market in the future?
